Tech Trek Camp 2018
What is Tech Trek?
A week-long, hands-on, residential camp that engages 8th grade girls in science, technology, engineering, and math classes, workshops, and field trips. Stockton has been hosting Tech Trek New Jersey since 2015, welcoming 192 campers from every county in New Jersey. Another 60 campers are attending this year - and 30 alumni from all four previous years are joining us for the first weekend!
Who We Are
Affiliated with the national American Association of University Women (AAUW), the first Tech Trek Camp in New Jersey was started by the Atlantic and Cape May County Branches of AAUW NJ, in 2015. The camp has expanded to accept applicants throughout the state, which is led by the Atlantic and Cape May County branches as a major project of the AAUW NJ STEM Team, with strong support from many branches located in central, northern, and southern New Jersey. AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.
How Can You Help?
In order to provide this one-of-a-kind experience at a low cost to campers, we rely on support from people like you to bring this experience to our community. American Association of University Women (AAUW) branches and donors sponsor this camp with a small challenge gifts, which must be matched with philanthropic gifts and other grants. Although AAUW asks each girl to pay only $50, actual expenses for camp range between $1500-$2000 each for the entire week of activities including non-stop hands-on STEM activities, dormitory stay, all meals, food and exciting field trip opportunities.
