About Women’s Golf
- The Stockton women’s golf team was elevated to intercollegiate status beginning with the 2019-20 academic year after playing as a club team in 2018-19. Stockton became one of four NCAA Division III institutions in the state of New Jersey to sponsor women’s golf, joining established programs at Drew University and FDU-Florham plus New Jersey City, which also added the sport this year.
- The Ospreys are coached by Rodger Gottlieb, who has been a fixture in the local golf community, with several decades of experience in playing and teaching. Gottlieb served as the director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic for 16 years and also spent time at the chairperson for the LPGA Player Relations and Communications Committee.
- Stockton competed in four events as a club team in 2018-19. Tatum Henry finished in the top 10 out of more than 30 golfers at all three tournaments in which the Ospreys played. Danielle Elia registered one top 10 plus two top 20's in the three tournaments.
Danielle Elia (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) was the top finisher for the Ospreys as she tied for 13th out of 40 golfers with a 91 in Stockton's first tournament as an intercollegiate team. Elia also played for Stockton last year when women's golf was a club sport.
Freshmen Madison Sauder (Pittsgrove/A.P. Schalick) tied for 32nd with a 116 while Tamara Farrow (Cape May Court House/Middle Twp.) finished 35th with a 120 as both players made their college debuts.
