About Women’s Field Hockey
Women’s Field Hockey supports the University mission by providing significant components of the whole-person Stockton education. Stockton student-athletes perform both in the classroom and on the field. The student-athlete graduation rate is higher than that of non-athletes, with 75% having a GPA of at least 3.0. These athletes and teams represent the very best of Stockton.
- The Stockton field hockey team had a record-setting 2018 season and capped it off with the school's first-ever postseason championship. The squad captured the ECAC Division III title in dramatic fashion as Britney Stein scored the game-winner in overtime in the the ECAC title match. The Ospreys set school records with 15 wins, a 1.18 goals against average and nine shutouts.
- Three players from head coach Sarah Elleman's squad earned NJAC First Team honors and the Ospreys had the NJAC Goaltender of the Year in junior Emily Gilligan, the first Osprey to earn that honor since 2005. Gilligan set a school record with a 1.19 goals against average and tied the mark of five shutouts.
- Senior back Victoria Caiazzo and sophomore forward Britney Stein earned NJAC First Team nods along with Gilligan. Caiazzo and Gilligan later were selected to the NFHCA All-South Atlantic Second Team as well.
