About Women’s Tennis
Women’s Tennis supports the University mission by providing significant components of the whole-person Stockton education. Stockton student-athletes perform both in the classroom and on the field. The student-athlete graduation rate is higher than that of non-athletes, with 75% having a GPA of at least 3.0. These players and teams represent the very best of Stockton.
- The Stockton women's tennis team reached double digits in wins for the first time since the 2014-15 season, finishing with a 10-5 record. Stockton ended both the fall and spring portions of their schedule with a flourish, capturing their last four matches in October and final three contests in March.
- Leading the way were seniors Maria Ibarra and Emily Steinberg, who were named NJAC All-Conference in singles. Steinberg had an outstanding final season, going 13-4 in singles while Ibarra won eight times in singles. Ibarra and Steinberg teamed for seven victories in doubles. Ibarra also was chosen College Player of the Year by the South Jersey Tennis Coaches Association (SJTCA).
- Stockton received great play from twin sisters Brenna Samuels and Brooke Samuels, who were newcomers to the team. Brenna Samuels finished with a remarkable 17-1 singles record, tying the second-highest win total in school history. Brooke Samuels tied Steinberg for second on the team with 13 singles victories. Both received NJAC Rookie of the Week honors once as well.
